Children In Country

"A Field of Dreams" Adoption Services, Inc. is seeking families to adopt domestic African American, Bi-Racial, and Caucasian infants. Currently there are more children to adopt than there are adoptive families. Domestic adoption is a loving alternative to parenting and an opportunity for adoptive parents to acknowledge the unique status of adoptive children.

Domestic Adoption Requirements

  • Residency anywhere in the U.S
  • Married couples adopting jointly, single men and women adopting independently, or where the law allows, unmarried partners adopting jointly (all with or without biological children)
  • Applicants accepted who own or rent their home
  • Applicants with average income welcome

How Does The Program Work?

Prospective adoptive parents are screened, educated, and an approved Home Study is written based on a home visit with our social worker and other supporting documents. They are then asked to submit written profiles with photographs and a letter to the birth parents, telling the birth parents who they are. Birth parents then choose a family from these profiles. The selection process may also include face-to-face meetings of birth and adoptive parents using first names.

Benefits

  • Newborn infants are available to adopt
  • The availability of the child’s medical reports and social/medical background of the child’s birth parents and their families
  • Infants are placed directly from the hospital – no foster care is involved
  • Possible opportunity to meet and “get to know” your child’s birth parents

How Long Is The Wait?

Since birth parents generally select adoptive parents for their children, waiting times vary. Waiting times for Caucasian infants are usually the longest whereas the waiting time for African American or Bi-racial infants is usually the shortest due to the great need for adoptive parents for these children.

“A Field of Dreams” does not operate using a waiting list.

What Are The Costs And Fees?

Based on the situation and the infant’s state of origin, the fees vary. Placement fees for this program can vary between $12-$20,000.00. This range includes counseling, the written Home Study and all of the legal steps involved. In addition, depending on state laws, the prospective parents may also be asked to pay birth mother expenses. These additional expenses may include her rent, utilities, and any medical fees for birth and delivery that are not covered by insurance. Travel expenses are not included. All fees are approximate and subject to change at any time.
